Good Design Should
Outlast Trends
AURUM & Co. was founded in 2011 with a simple conviction: that the objects we use every day should be made slowly, honestly, and built to be repaired rather than replaced.
From a New York Workbench to 50 Countries
AURUM began in 2011 when our founder, a watch collector with a background in industrial design, grew frustrated with the state of affordable luxury. Most mid-priced watches were mass-produced to a price, with straps that cracked in a season and movements that could not be serviced. He believed there was room for something better: honest materials, proven movements, and designs intended to be worn for decades.
What started as a single chronograph hand-assembled in a small SoHo workshop has grown into a collection of timepieces, leather goods, and everyday-carry accessories worn by more than 40,000 customers across 50 countries. We still work in small production runs, we still hand-finish every strap, and we still inspect every single piece before it ships.
Our Values
Three principles guide every decision we make. First, materials before marketing: we use 316L steel, sapphire crystal, and full-grain leather because they perform, not because they photograph well. Second, repair over replace: our lifetime repair promise on leather and 5-year warranty on timepieces mean we would rather fix your product than sell you a new one. Third, honest pricing: by selling directly and keeping runs small, the price you pay reflects materials and craft — not a retail markup.
A Brand Built on Doing Things Properly
How Each AURUM Product Is Made
Timepieces
Each case is milled from 316L stainless steel and brushed by hand to a uniform matte finish. Movements — Swiss quartz for our chronographs and dress watches, automatic for the Sable line — are sourced from established manufacturers and tested for accuracy over 48 hours before assembly. Sapphire crystals are pressure-seated, and every completed watch passes a 100-metre water-resistance test.
Leather Goods
We cut exclusively from vegetable-tanned, full-grain hides — leather that develops a rich, unique patina with use rather than peeling like corrected-grain alternatives. Stitching is heat-set with bonded thread for durability, edges are painted and buffed in multiple passes, and each wallet and bag is assembled one at a time. If a seam ever fails, our lifetime repair promise covers it.
